Where did the name come from?
The name Mighty Thoroughbred Clique comes from a message board. The Chronicle of the Horse message board has a forum specifically for racing, which in the U.S. typically means Thoroughbred Racing. One of the posters, Linny, had the tag and I asked her if I could use it for the fund-raising effort. Who designed the logo? As you might guess, being a TB rider in dressage and having "brand" envy of all the warmbloods, I schemed and planned to put things right. While taking a class in art software, I began to try my hand at design. The results were not very good, but a graphic artist with whom I had been working took my idea and professionalized it. What do you do with the money? In 2005, MTC netted made over $1,000. About $3 from the sale of each patch goes to a TB-related organization (depends on cost of shipping, paypal fees, California state sales tax! and sometimes we list them on eBay to increase visibility) and from $10 to $20 of each browband. We also donate patches and browbands for organizations' own fund-raising activities. In addition, the MTC has sponsored two event riders in the past years. [ Details ] How can I write you?
